Wins for Uruguay, Colombia, Paraguay in 2018 qualifiers

(Reuters) - Uruguay and Colombia made 2-0 winning starts to the South American qualifiers on Thursday for the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia in contrasting geographical conditions.

Paraguay, recovering from their disappointment at not reaching the 2014 tournament in Brazil, scored an 85th minute winner from Derlis Gonzalez for a 1-0 victory away to Venezuela.
