An unenviable task awaits national coach Kim Swee

INTERIM national football coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee has a suicidal mission on his hands. The former international has just days to lift the gloom and raise the spirit of the battered Malaysian football team when they resume their World Cup qualifying campaign against Middle East giants Saudi Arabia at the Shah Alam Stadium on Tuesday. The horror show on Thursday – getting massacred 10-0 by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Abu Dhabi – is still fresh in everyone’s mind.

StarSport: This is not the most appropriate time to assume the post of interim coach with the national team. Do you feel as if you are taking over a damaged warship to the battleground?
