SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Asian Football Confederation (AFC) president Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa wasted little time in praising the work of his organisation after Japan's runner-up showing at the women's World Cup.
The holders were thumped 5-2 by the United States in the final in Vancouver, Canada, on Sunday but the FIFA executive committee member said the Japanese should not be despondent.
