JDT not ready for Champions League, says Hodak

JDT's Safiq Rahim takes a shot at goal during the AFC Champions League first playoff match against Bengaluru FC of India in Johor last week.

PETALING JAYA: Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) may be the strongest football team in Malaysia but they are far from ready for the AFC Champions League.

JDT head coach Bojan Hodak made the conclusion after the Southern Tigers, bidding to be the first Malaysian team to play in the AFC Champions League tournament proper, failed to get past the second qualifying round. JDT were whipped 3-0 by Bangkok Glass in Thailand on Tuesday.
