Late Bale penalty rescues Real after Ronaldo sent off

BARCELONA (Reuters) - Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off as leaders Real Madrid came from behind to beat Cordoba 2-1 in La Liga on Saturday thanks to a late Gareth Bale penalty.

The Portuguese kicked out at defender Edimar with seven minutes to go as Real struggled to create chances but they were gifted the win when a Bale free-kick was handled by Fede Cartabia in the area.
