AMSTERDAM, Dec 21 (Reuters) - - Ajax Amsterdam, still smarting from a shock 4-0 Dutch Cup thrashing by Vitesse Arnhem on Thursday, left it late before finally easing past struggling Excelsior 2-0 in the league on Sunday.
The champions were frustrated by sixth from bottom Excelsior until substitutes Mike van der Hoorn and Richairo Zivkovic scored in the last seven minutes.
