The Malaysia Cup final breakdown

SUPER League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) stopped Premier League side Felda United’s Malaysia Cup run in the semi-finals (6-5 on aggregate) while Pahang ended Felda’s fairytale run in the final of the FA Cup (2-1). Felda coach Irfan Bakti, who has first-hand knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of Pahang and JDT, sizes up the two sides ahead of their clash in the Malaysia Cup final at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Saturday night.

Both teams have a safe pair of hands in Mohd Al-Hafiz Hamzah (JDT) and Mohd Khairul Azhan Khalid (Pahang). The 30-year-old Mohd Al-Hafiz from Kedah should get the nod for the No. 1 jersey over former Harimau Muda A custodian Mohd Izham Tarmizi. Kuantan-born Mohd Khairul, 24, will play in his third Cup final since last year.
