LONDON (Reuters) - Sunderland manager Gus Poyet borrowed a phrase from former British Prime Minister John Major when he said on Thursday his team must get back to basics in the wake of last weekend's humiliating meltdown at Southampton.
Poyet said he had spent the day after the 8-0 Premier League defeat "alone, thinking and analysing" the reasons for his side's capitulation before focusing on this weekend's home match against Arsenal.
