Malaysia face a striking dilemma

INCHEON: The lack of a calibre striker stood out like a sore thumb as Malaysia exited from the men’s football event in the group stages at the Incheon Asian Games.

Out of three Group A matches, Malaysia only won once – a-nothing-to-shout-about 4-0 win over Laos in their second match. In their opening match, the national Under-23 squad were out of depth as they went down 3-0 to hosts South Korea. Then against Saudi Arabia, 10-man Malaysia lost 3-0 to bow out of the competition.
