Futsal: Malaysia denied semis spot by Australia

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia failed to make the semi-finals of the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Championship after going down 3-0 to Australia in their Group A match at the Malawati Stadium in Shah Alam.

Despite putting up a spirited display, Malaysia could not stem the Australian tide, and were floored by goals from Nathan Niski (8th), Gregory Giovenali (18th) and Daniel Fogarty (37th). It was the second defeat in the group for Malaysia, following the 6-1 loss to Indonesia earlier in the competition.
