KANGAR: All eyes will be on Group C when the Sukma football competition goes into the final round of group matches on Wednesday.
All four teams in the group – Penang, Malacca, Selangor and Federal Territories (FT) – have three points respectively after two matches, with only goal difference separating them.
Leaders Penang will take on second-placed Malacca at the Unimap Stadium, while third-placed Selangor will play bottom side FT at the UiTM Stadium to determine the final standings.
Selangor coach Adam Abdullah said his team did well to bounce back to beat Penang 1-0 on Monday after being edged 3-2 by Malacca in their opening match last week.
“Team morale is high after we beat Penang ... the boys are fired up for this match and it’s a good sign for us ahead of the match,” said Adam.
“All the teams in the group have a good chance of advancing to the quarter-finals. That shows how tough this group is. We will go all out to get the full points to finish in the top two.”
Only two teams from the four groups will advance to the quarter-finals which will be held on Friday.
