JDT to go all out against Forces

JDT

JOHOR BARU: Not even the absence of two key players due to injuries – Argentine Pablo Aimar and skipper Mohd Aidil Zafuan – will stop Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) from going all out to take full points against Armed Forces in a Super League match at the Larkin Stadium on Friday.

JDT head coach Cesar Ferrando Jimenez said they have a big pool of talented players and that the duo’s absence would not prevent them from maintaining their unbeaten home run this season.

“Both Aimar and Aidil have not fully recovered from their injuries. It’s not a problem playing without them. I’m sure the other players can fill in for them and get the results,” said the Spaniard.

Even towering defender Baihakki Khaizan is confident of picking up maximum points against the struggling soldiers.

“Armed Forces will return home disappointed. The match will be at our homeground and we want to defend our unbeaten record,” said the Singaporean.

Armed Forces are also expected to start without several key players, including ace striker Marlon James and nippy winger Christie Jayaseelan.
Baihakki also said that JDT wanted to make amends for their away defeat to Terengganu last week.

“The last match was quite painful ... we had plenty of chances to win it. But we have learnt from our mistakes and we want to go all out for the three points against Forces,” said Baihakki.
