PETALING JAYA: Selangor remained winless in the AFC Cup competition after losing 1-0 to leaders Hanoi T&T in a Group F match at the Hanoi Stadium.
The Red Giants have managed only two points at the halfway mark of the competition after identical 1-1 draws in their earlier matches against Arema FC of Indonesia and Maziya SC of Maldives.
Midfielder Nguyen Van Quyet scored the all-important goal for Hanoi T&T in the 52nd minute. The Vietnamese top the standings with nine points from three straight wins.
Selangor will play Hanoi T&T in the second-round of the competition at the Shah Alam Stadium on April 1.
In another match, Arema FC defeated Maziya SC 3-1 at the National Stadium in Male. The Indonesians scored through Hendro Siswanto (14th), Gustavo Lopez (31st) and Dendi Santoso (68th) while Mayiza replied through Ali Amdhan (25th).
