Shu Qi’s passion for Chelsea knows no boundries

SUBANG: Chinese national Shu Qi proved that a fan’s passion knows no boundaries.

The 24-year-old Beijing local turned up at the Saujana Hotel to meet his Chelsea idols yesterday.

Shu Qi had earlier watched Chelsea play an exhibition match against Singha All Stars in Bangkok on Wednesday but was not happy with his view from the stands.

“I was with China’s Chelsea official fan club for the match against Singha All Stars but our seats were too far away from the pitch and I didn’t have a good view of the players,” he said.

“There were actually more than 40 of us in Bangkok but the rest have gone back already.

“I wanted to watch the team again, especially Frank (Lampard) and manager Jose Mourinho ... so, I decided to come down to Malaysia.”

Shu Qi actually wanted to follow the team to Indonesia after their match against Malaysia “but my credit card has maxed out”.

“I have spent around RM4,000 so far. Unfortunately, I have maxed out my credit card and will have to miss the match in Jakarta,” he said.

Shu Qi, who has been a Chelsea fan since he was 15, added that “I will die happy” if he gets to meet Mourinho and Lampard.
