Track cyclist Mohd Fadhil Mohd Zonis (centre) won the 1km time trial event at the Asian Junior Championships in Thailand in February.

PETALING JAYA: Explosive rides are what cyclists Mohd Fadhil Mohd Zonis and Mohd Khairil Nizam Rasol must aim for if they are to make history for Malaysia in keirin at the Track World Junior Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan, from Aug 19-23.

Fadhil and Khairil will combine with Mohd Shariz Efendi Shahrin for the team sprint, where they won silver at the Asian Cycling Championships in Korat in February. Eiman Firdaus Mohd Zamri completes the four-member line-up for the world junior meet. He will compete in the scratch and points race.
