(Reuters) - Spain's Alberto Contador retained the Giro d'Italia overall lead when he finished third in the 15th stage, a 165-kilometre mountain trek up to Madonna Di Campiglio won by Spain's Mikel Landa on Sunday.

The Tinkoff-Saxo rider, who snatched a six-second time bonus at an intermediate sprint, now leads second-placed Fabio Aru of Italy by two minutes 35 seconds.
