LANGKAWI: Specialized Racing Team’s Kohei Yamamoto is enjoying his new-found status as the rider to beat at the Langkawi International Mountain Bike Challenge (LIMBC) starting on Monday.
The 29-year-old Japanese, a five-time Asian mountain bike champion, came from nowhere to stun a world-class field to take the LIMBC overall title last year. It was a breakthrough victory not only for Yamamoto, but for the Asian mountain bike fraternity as a whole.
