Malaysian cycling team bag a bronze

NAYPYITAW: Malaysia finally broke their medal drought in cycling after five days of competition, claiming a bronze in the 100km team time trial in Ngan Phai Lin in Naypyitaw  on Monday.

The team comprising of Mohd Fauzan Lufti, Amir Mustafa Rusli, Mohd Rauf Misbah and Adiq Husainie Othman finished the race in 2’41:41.285 behind Thailand (2’38:51.445).

Vietnam raced their way to gold in 2’36:19.717.

Mariana Mohamad and Masziyaton Mohd Radzi will be hoping to spring a surprise in the women’s road race on Tuesday.

The cycling competition comes to a close on Wednesday with the men’s road race.
