PETALING JAYA: National youth bowler Nur Amirah Auni Azman romped to her maiden international title after winning the girls’ Youth Masters title in the Indonesia Open at the Jaya Ancol Bowl in Jakarta on Thursday.
The 16-year-old Amirah knocked a total of 2,063 pins over 10 games en route to victory and edging out compatriot Qistina Zainal Fitri, who took second spot on 1,944 pins. Alisha Nabila of Indonesia knocked down 1,931 pins to take third spot.
In the boys’ competition, Malaysia’s Christopher Tiong missed out on the title after rolling down a poor 161 in his last game to finish third on 2,003 pins.
Indonesia grabbed a 1-2 finish with Diwan Rizaldy taking the title with 2,037 pins while Billy Mohd Islam grabbed the second place on 2,014.
