Korean husband and wife find gold in Nevada alley


PETALING JAYA: South Korean bowlers Cho Young-seon and Son Yun-hee became the first husband and wife to win the Masters gold medals in the World Championships.

Young-seon scored an emphatic 245-195 win over local favourite Chris Barnes in the final at the Strike Zone Bowling Arena in Nevada, United States. His wife Yun-hee then defeated compatriot Kim Moon-jeong 211-193 to grab the gold medal.

In the men’s team event, Finland defeated the US 1183-1126 for the gold medal while South Korea downed the US 1159-992 to win the women’s team title.
