KUALA LUMPUR: Like a broken record, Malaysia’s men’s singles challenge in a Superseries badminton event ends in the first round yet again.

This time, Zulfadli Zulkiffli was the player who tanked at the first hurdle, losing to his Chinese peer Wang Zhengming 21-11, 21-15 at the Indonesian Open - in a battle of former world junior champions. The World Championships-bound Zulfadli has yet to clear the early rounds of any Superseries tournaments.
