DONGGUAN: The young guns ruled the day for Japan and Indonesia in the Sudirman Cup.

Thomas Cup winners Japan edged an under-strength Denmark side 3-2 while Indonesia overcame Taiwan 3-1 in the quarter-finals of the world mixed team event at the Dongfeng Nissan Sports Centre here.
