KUALA LUMPUR: Tee Jing Yi has taken a gamble to play in the Singapore Open.

The world No. 66 shuttler picked up a calf injury in the second-round loss in the women’s singles qualifying tournament of the Malaysian Open at Putra Stadium last week, but was given the green light on Monday by the National Sports Institute (NSI) to compete in the Singapore Open.
