PETALING JAYA: Under-fire national shuttler Liew Daren put up a gutsy performance to check into the men’s singles semi-finals of the Polish Open.

The 27-year-old Daren fought tooth and nail to topple top seed Rasmus Fladberg of Denmark 21-12, 13-21, 25-23 in the last eight in Arlamow. It took Daren 58 minutes to record the win and it was certainly one of his better performances in recent times.
