KUALA LUMPUR: Youngster Tan Kian Meng enjoyed a small breakthrough in the Korean Open Grand Prix in Jeonju by making his first career quarter-final appearance in the men’s singles event.
The 20-year-old Kian Meng produced one of his best performances to upset fourth seed and fellow Malaysian Mohd Arif Abdul Latif 21-16, 13-21, 21-17 in the third round to set-up a meeting with Japan’s Kazumasa Sakai.
