A combo shot of Lee Chong Wei's specially tailored badminton apparel and equipment he will be using at the World Champs in Denmark starting next week.
KUALA LUMPUR: Lee Chong Wei’s fans are likely to be tickled pink at the World Championships in Copenhagen from Aug 23-31.
The Malaysian world No. 1 shuttler will be donning a new pink attire specially made by sponsor Yonex in the nine-day championships. Chong Wei will also be using a tailor-made racquet and wearing a cool pair of shoes – all with a dab of pink and purple.
“Men usually do not like to be associated with the pink colour, but I have decided to try something different. I have changed from yellow to pink this time,” said Chong Wei.
“It will be a one of a kind design. It is specially made for me. I am looking forward to wearing it at the World Championships. Hopefully, I can really make a difference in this year’s championships,” he added.
Top seed Chong Wei is aiming to go one step better in Denmark after losing in the final to Lin Dan of China in 2011 (Wembley) and 2013 (Guangzhou).
