PETALING JAYA: China’s Lin Dan cruised to yet another title after beating compatriot Wang Zhengming 21-19, 21-14 in the men’s singles final of the Taiwan Open in Taipei.
The win was Lin Dan’s fourth crown this season, having won the Australian Open title in June and the Badminton Asia Championships and China Masters in April.
China also picked up the mixed doubles title through Liu Yuchen-Yu Xiaohan, who downed Indonesians Alfian Eko Prasetya-Annisa Saufika 21-12, 21-14 in the final. In the men’s doubles, Indonesia’s Andrei Adistia-Hendra Aprida Gunawan landed their first title of the year after beating China’s Li Junhui-Liu Yuchen 21-14, 16-21, 21-16.
Like China, Indonesia also won two titles with Nitya Krishinda Maheswari-Greysia Polii outplaying China’s Wang Xiaoli-Yu Yang 21-18, 21-11 in the women’s doubles final.
The women’s singles crown was won by South Korean Sung Ji-hyun, who beat Liu Xin of China 21-13, 21-18.
