KUALA LUMPUR: She was a losing finalist last year, but Joyce Choong Wai Chi is back with a new partner and a new zeal to try and nick the mixed doubles title at this year’s Maybank Malaysia International Youth Under-19 badminton championships.
The 18-year-old and her partner Darren Isaac Devadass got off to a good start Wednesday when they easily packed off Vietnam’s Vo Bao Thien-Tran Que Anh 21-10, 21-5 in 17 minutes at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara.
