SHUTTLER Chong Wei Feng gave a good display in the first game before going down to four-time world champion Lin Dan of China in the third round of World Championships.
He went down 20-22, 10-22 in a 45-minute match.
After the defeat, Wei Feng said that his more prominent opponent was not as fit as he looked.
Chong Wei Feng gave a good account of himself despite losing to Lin Dan.
“It felt good to give Lin Dan a good fight but I did not take the advantage at the crucial stage. In the second game though, I made plenty of mistakes,” said Wei Feng.
“Lin Dan is still good although he has not played for a long time. However, I found that his lower body movement is not as impressive as before.”
The 25-year-old Wei Feng who is ranked 15th in the world took on Lin Dan once at last year’s All-England. Then, he went down in a similiar fashion to the reigning Olympic champion.
“Lin Dan is very skillful and his technique is outstanding but I do feel his form has dropped a little,” said Wei Feng.
“If he takes on (Lee) Chong Wei now, he might not win because Chong Wei is definitely a lot fitter,” added the Kedahan who will return home on Friday.
