KUALA LUMPUR: There’s a notion that some athletes are born champions, while others worked hard to be champions. American track and field star Edwin Moses belonged to the latter category.
Moses came through the hard way in his climb to the pinnacle of world athletics. And he was duly rewarded – winning gold twice in the 400m hurdles (with a world record time of 47.63) at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, Canada and the 1984 edition of the Games in Los Angeles.
