FRANCE was in lockdown overnight after the attacks that killed 129 and injured 352 across Paris. It is one of the worst known attacks on French soil since the Second World War, and President Francois Hollande blamed it on the Islamic State (IS).

Earlier this year in January, two gunmen stormed the Paris offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, killing 12 and wounding 11.
