SPAD/ JPJ must resolve issues on ride-sharing


I AM upset that SPAD/JPJ and our Transport Ministry have seen fit to punish Uber and Grab Taxi drivers by fining them, threatening to and actually confiscating their vehicles, and generally causing them to fear their work. This is at the same time that The Star publicised another cab-sharing company for first-mile/last-mile connectivity, and that DBKL is seriously considering a city congestion charge similar to those in Singapore and London.

I may be a typical Uber user. I have a car and use it to travel when necessary close to work and home. However, when I have to travel into the city, I would prefer not to endure the hassles of traffic and parking, and have found Uber efficient, pleasant and affordable.
