Don’t ban, recycle polystyrene

WE refer to the ban by Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ), Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ), Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA), and the Malacca state government on the use of polystyrene for food service packaging such as the polystyrene foam lunch boxes.

This ban came at very short notice, and, following so closely to the start of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), is likely to hurt the livelihood of food hawkers and traders and affect consumers at large.
