Great roads spoiled by maniacal drivers

I AM an expatriate married to a Malaysian and I have been in this country for the past six months. I love the country and the people. However, I feel the driving habits of the locals leave a lot to be desired. It has got so bad recently that your papers are full of stories bemoaning the bad habits of the driving population.

I have driven in many countries across the world but I have never seen such disgraceful driving as that I encountered on the roads in Malaysia. You probably have one of the best road systems in the world but it is all for nothing if you continue to let people use it the way they do.
