Doctors demand transparency

REFERRING to the article “Doctors may add GST cost to fees” (The Star, March 27), we doctors find this not only misleading to the general public but also confusing to the medical fraternity.

Why is the Customs Department only coming out with this statement just days before the GST is implemented? The advertisements on GST so far have led the rakyat to believe it is good and that health care cost would not rise. Now, this article says “expect a general increase of 3% to 4% in health care cost following the introduction of GST”.
