Good values lacking

WHILE the Government has put in place various measures and programmes to propel the country towards the status of a developed and high-income economy, this in itself would not qualify us to attain this status, if the mental attitude, character, traits, civic consciousness and overall outlook of our citizenry does not undergo a complete transformation simultaneously.

One only has to observe the drivers on our roads and highways, commu­ters on LRT, customers at restaurants and pet-owners’ blatant disregard and consideration for fellow citizens.
