Cops must be firm against those who bribe

I REFER to the news report, “Man pulled over for speeding then trying to bribe cops” (The Star, July 25) where it was reported that a man was arrested after he tried to bribe his way out of a speeding ticket along the North–South Expressway.

According to federal traffic police chief Asst Comm Mohd Fuad Abdul Latiff, police explained to the man that he was stopped for having a fancy number plate and failing to stop when police initially ordered him to do so.
