A culture of accountability needed

KUDOS to Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam for his letter “Heads should roll over funds wastage” (The Star, April 10). I could not agree more on the points and suggestions that Ramon had made and I would like to add that our country should start to instil a serious culture of accountability.

While it is good and laudable that the Auditor-General’s office has painstakingly come out with a comprehensive report on poor governance and wastage of public funds, it will not change the way the public’s money is being utilised if no corrective measures are being taken.
