IT is a shame the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) are giving cold turkey treatment to Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin by playing delaying tactics to the minister’s proposal to present the National Football Development Plan (NFDP) in Kuantan.
Khairy had written to FAM deputy president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah about 90 days ago but there has been no response.
This type of unprofessional behaviour clearly shows lack of maturity on the part of the leadership of FAM who feel offended by Khairy’s recent constructive criticism of FAM’s traditional method of selling tickets to the fans rather than use the online ticketing method which had resulted in fans unruly behaviour at the stadium due to long queues and waiting time.
The relationship took a further beating after the minister appointed Tan Sri Annuar Musa to the committee overseeing the NFDP despite him serving 30 months suspension.
FAM must bury the hatchet and personal differences by working as a team to bring back our glory days in football.
Please be responsive to kick-start the NFDP, if not, we will slip further down the Fifa ranking. The ball is at your feet, FAM.
