WHATEVER happened to the gender gap in the Scottish independence polls? Last weekend’s seismic YouGov survey not only put the yes campaign ahead for the first time – by 51% to 49% (excluding don’t knows) – but showed support for independence among women up 14 points in a month to 47%. In other words, the long-running gender gap in the yes campaign appears to have been practically eliminated. How come?
