BUCHAREST (Reuters) - The International Monetary Fund has agreed to extend Romania's 5 billion euro (4.2 billion pounds) aid deal by two months to allow more time to meet previous commitments after it missed some targets in areas like privatisations, it said on Tuesday.
Romania's IMF mission chief, Erik de Vrijer, told reporters he would ask the board to allow the agreement to run past its March expiry as reforms and use of European Union cash were not as fast as envisaged.
