(Reuters) - President Barack Obama revealed plans on Wednesday for America's biggest gun-control push in decades, spurred by last month's massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut in which a gunman killed 20 children and six adults.
Many of Obama's proposals, which include enhanced background checks for gun buyers and the reintroduction of a ban on assault weapons, face tough opposition from gun enthusiasts led by the powerful National Rifle Association.
