KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait and the European Union announced around €1.6bil (RM6.4bil) to help alleviate war-torn Syria’s humanitarian crisis, which Kuwait’s emir called the worst in “modern history”.
Stressing the gravity of the situation, UN chief Ban Ki-moon told participants at a meeting in Kuwait yesterday aimed at raising US$8.4bil (RM31bil) this year for Syrian aid, that four out of five Syrians live in poverty.
