To mark Singapore’s golden jubilee, next year’s Chingay will be the biggest and grandest in its 42-year history, said organisers of the annual Chinese New Year procession.

Some 11,000 performers from 150 organisations will take part in the street parade, up from the usual 8,000 from 120 organisations of the past. Among next year’s performers are 760 from 15 groups overseas.
