Archbishop still in critical condition

ARCHBISHOP Emeritus Nicholas Chia (pic), who fell into a coma last Tuesday, is still in critical condition.

The 75-year-old former head of the Roman Catholic Church here suffered a brain haemorrhage following a fall in Punggol Park, near the Catholic Spirituality Centre where he lives.

Doctors at Mount Alvernia Hospital, are still working to clear a large blood clot in his brain.

The good news is that bleeding in his brain has stopped, the Church said. — The Straits Times/ Asia News Network
