PUTRAJAYA: The arrest of former political activist Dr Kassim Ahmad in Kedah and the transfer of his case to Putrajaya on the charge of insulting Islam are legal, the Court of Appeal was told.
Senior Federal Counsel Shamsul Bolhassan submitted that the arrest was fair because it was done by the Kedah Islamic department authorities, which had obtained an arrest warrant, in their duty to assist their counterparts in the Federal Territory.
