JOHOR BARU: Former Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah should have tried to make changes from within the party, said Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abd Samad.
Shahrir said that Saifuddin's reasoning to leave Umno on the basis that it was incapable of change was a pity as Saifuddin had been given responsibilities and chances to lead while in Umno.
