PETALING JAYA: The first ever Malaysian Reebok Spartan is set to see over 10,000 participants taking part in the two-day obstacle event, which will start on Saturday in Shah Alam.
Participants will be tackling the 6km Spartan Sprint race, which has more than 25 obstacles along the way.
Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin will also be part of the event, held in conjunction with the inaugural National Sports Day, when he competes with the race organisers on the second day.
“The Sprint is an excellent starting point to becoming a Spartan as it is fun for beginners while the course has plenty of challenges for seasoned racers.
“The race organisers are quietly confident that Malaysia’s first Spartan race is only going to whet the appetite of Malaysians for more.
“Spartan’s mission is to inspire people to test their physical and mental limits and change their lives through the sport of obstacle racing,” said CEO and founder of TSA Marcus Luer.
Founded in 2010, the Reebok Spartan Race is one of the famous events in obstacle racing.
The race caters to individuals looking to test their physical limits and change their frame of reference for what they can accomplish.
