PETALING JAYA: Former Selangor mentri besar Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo’s offer to provide free dental treatment to the poor in lieu of a jail term for his corruption conviction was a stillborn plan, said a legal expert.
Malaysian Bar criminal law committee member Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu pointed out that under the Malaysian Medical Act those convicted were not allowed to practise medicine.
