MCA hits out at racists

MCA President Datuk Sri Liow Tiong Lai (left) and Dr Wee Ka Siong arriving at Johor MCA Convention 2015 at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, Segamat.

SEGAMAT: MCA'S tolerance towards racist acts in the country has hit rock bottom and they will not give in to acts that are out to hurt the people, said its deputy president Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong.

He hit out on racists who existed on both sides of the political divide saying that the country belongs to every Malaysian.

"This country belongs to Malaysians. By shouting "This is Malay land", you have gone overboard," said Dr Wee who is also Johor MCA chairmanat the party's state convention here on Saturday.

Dr Wee said the police must not let off the racists easily as this could jeopardise the credibility of the force.

"Racists will cause social disintegration and disharmony, jeopardising the country," he said.

He said mass rallies, irrespective of their “colour” were not necessary.

"Rallies can also be hijacked by interested parties," he added.
